Westfield has announced the opening of the first UK store for global women’s fashion brand Stradivarius at Westfield Stratford City.
Stradivarius, part of the Inditex group, has chosen Westfield Stratford City to launch in the UK, taking its total number of stores to 874 in 60 countries. The store, with a commercial space of some 390s qm, will be the UK flagship for the Stradivarius brand and follows the successful launch of a UK e-commerce site for the brand in October 2013. The store will be open in time to present the brand’s autumn 2014 collections to Westfield Stratford’s established customer base of stylish young shoppers.
Bill Giouroukos, Westfield director of operations, said: “Building on the existing long term relationship between Westfield and Inditex which see a number of their fashion brands at both London centres, we are very excited to announce the opening of the first Stradivarius store to the UK at Westfield Stratford City. Westfield centres remain the first choice for international retailers looking to launch in the UK. The opening of Stradivarius will be an excellent addition to our strong fashion offer at Westfield Stratford City.”
Stradivarius, which has particular appeal for women aged 20 to 35, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It is the sixth Inditex brand to establish a store presence in the UK.
With over 38m visitors per year and over 99% leased, Westfield Stratford City saw close to £1bn in sales in 2013. Celebrating the best of British and international fashion, Westfield Stratford City has more than 250 stores to choose from, including other hugely popular Inditex brands Zara, Zara Home, Pull & Bear and Bershka.
