Cloud-based workforce management software provider, Workplace, claims it will be launching a retail industry first on 24 September 2013: a fully-playable online video game to celebrate the company’s success with its proprietary Schedule Quality Rating (SQR), an application of gamification in workforce management.
Workplace is a leader in workforce labour forecasting and scheduling, and its SQR is at the heart of improving the overall efficiency of store operations to drive increased conversion and, in turn, sales. SQR takes a retailer’s selection of key performance indicators such as service levels, ineffectiveness, forecast labour to sales ratio, hours vs budget conversion rate, staffing level compliance and overtime, and presents them in a simple to understand one to five star rating for a schedule.
Store managers and supervisors understand intuitively that one star is bad and five stars are good. The five star rating is an application of gamification, the first of its kind in workforce management, used to improve store schedules through an easy to understand mechanism.
To celebrate the continued success of gamification for workforce management, Workplace will be releasing ‘Workplace: The Game’ – a video game that reflects the benefits and features of its workforce management software solution, and particularly gamification.
