Xavier Hua has been appointed managing director of ECR Europe, which will be the new regional platform for collaboration within The Consumer Goods Forum. ECR Europe was previously managed by AIM – the European Brands Association.
Hua brings broad experience in supply chain management to the role. He was previously head of supply with Orange – France Telecom, and responsible for supply chain and strategy with Carrefour and has spent time in the consulting business.
At Carrefour he was involved in many ECR Europe and ECR France working groups and has long-standing experience of ECR activities. Hua actively contributed to the formation of The Consumer Goods Forum in 2009.
Hua is also director general of ECR France and will share his time between the two roles.
Gianni Ciserani, group president western Europe Procter & Gamble and manufacturer co-chair of ECR Europe, said: “Xavier takes over his role at an exciting time in the life of ECR Europe: we have struck a strategic partnership with our global counterpart, The Consumer Goods Forum, we have launched innovative new projects that will improve the way we serve consumers and we will soon present their results to the ECR community during our annual event on 5-6 April 2011 in Brussels.”
“We are more than confident in Xavier’s skills and know-how”, added ECR Europe’s retail co-chair Ignacio Gonzalez, France commercial and group merchandise director Carrefour. “We know that his double role at European and national level, together with our close relationship with The Global Consumer Goods Forum, will be strong assets for the success of ECR in Europe.”
